Another great commission for the Couture Queen boutique. This illustration will hang in their boutique for all the world to see!

When I was asked to place the star of their new logo design into a different setting, I was happy to meet the challenge. Here we find her at home after a great shopping experience finding just the right things to wear at the Couture Queen. She gazes into the mirror, content that she found the right outfit at the perfect fit!

Couture Queen Boutique's logo by JNESS

As promised, here is something new for my workdesk. Once again I am posting the preliminary sketch work that became the final piece. I have gotten some good responses about posting the different stages of my creative process.

 

I was hired to revise the Couture Queen Boutique's logo by adding a beautiful plus sized shopper and touching up the typography of the existing company's brand. I always enjoy assignments like this. The challenge is to maintain the integrity of the colors and classy flair that Couture Queen Boutique is famous for while adding new elements that shift the direction slightly. The client was pleased with the results, I am as well. There are a few other projects in the works for this great client. I won't reveal any details about them yet, but stay tuned so you can see what develops.

Couple Fighting Ninjas - Taking on the World!

Long time no see. The bad part is that I haven't posted in a while. The good part is that I have a lot to post. I have a really fun project to share with you this week.


My new client wanted an illustration featuring her and her husband fighting ninjas "taking on the world". Usually I forget to save the creative steps of my projects, but I saved everything from the drafts to the finished piece. I pulled inspiration from various Elektra, Daredevil comic book art from the 90's. This is the result...

By the way - I have a new "Princess" Illustration in the works that I will be revealing very soon. Stay close lost of great things on the way.

NEW COLUMN written by JNESS
